The design's unique properties lie in its fluid spaces, generous lighting, and cross ventilation. These elements allow the house to be easily integrated or isolated, offering a balance between privacy and social interaction. The house is designed to entertain guests while maintaining the panoramic view created by the garden.
The realization of Valley House is deeply rooted in the use of traditional materials such as stone, wood, brick, raw cement, and tiles. The use of color and landscaping further enhances the warm and cozy environment, creating a space designed for relaxation and rest, as well as for hosting gatherings.
The house spans a total construction area of 700 square meters. The first floor comprises the social, leisure, and service areas of the house. The heart of the house, the kitchen, is open to all four sides, integrating with the dining room, living room, terrace, and pool deck. The living room itself is connected to an outdoor gourmet kitchen, a game room, pool deck, spa, sauna, and a winter garden.
Located in Vale dos Cristais Condominium in Nova Lima, Minas Gerais, Brazil, the project started in 2017. The design team, led by David Guerra and including Jefferson Gurgel, Ninive Resende, and Bernardo Hauck, faced the challenge of designing a house with a near 360-degree view that feels welcoming. The continuity between inside and outside was achieved by using a mix of classic Brazilian architecture materials and incorporating an internal garden for thermal comfort and air circulation.
The Valley House design was awarded Silver in the A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2018. This prestigious accolade is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that exhibit outstanding expertise and innovation. The design was admired for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
